IT Engineer

4-5 days a week onsite. Keep salary at 150k and below. Sweet spot is 140k.


Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled engineer to join our on-site IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 1 and 2 support to end-users, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. In addition to desktop support, this role will also involve working with cloud services and Linux environments.
Responsibilities:
  1. Tier 1 and 2 Support:
    • Respond to and resolve IT support requests from end-users in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing clear and concise instructions for issue resolution.
    • Collaborate with other team members to escalate complex problems to higher-tier support as needed.
  2. Desktop and User Support:
    • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Assist users with account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
    • Conduct training sessions to empower end-users and enhance their technical skills.
  3. Cloud and Linux Exposure:
  • Gain hands-on experience with all three major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Assist in basic cloud maintenance tasks.
  • Basic Linux server administration and maintenance tasks
 
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
    • Help create technical documentation and manuals for end users.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in providing Tier 1 and 2 support in an IT environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • Exposure to Linux environment is a plus.
  • Basic scripting language skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
